I live alone in my tin can cottage on wheels. Normally! My life is my own. Normally! I come and go as I please, except for my work hours. Normally!
Lately though, I have this appendage: the two pound pup El Bear who is my house guest. Anytime I go anywhere anymore there’s this leash attached to my hand with the tiny toto at the other end.
For the most part I am able to understand his needs and take care of them. Sometimes I am just plain puzzled.
Before today I did not know when to give a dog a bath. However, after today…..I’m spot on!
It all happened when we decided to start our day with a field trip. A seaside day of discovery. So off we went, my little furry charge and I. Across the road to Caspar Beach.
It was early morning. The ocean was at low tide. The beach was deserted. A warm sun was peeking out from the disappearing fog.
El Bear started by harvesting some kelp.
Next came a closer examination of some feathers on a seaweed strewn rock.
A giant sea anemone gets a few sniffs. All those blobs on the rock are more anemones. Under water they put out a corona of fingers to capture food. Good thing El Bear is on land*)
Posing with a bit of Palm Tree Kelp.
El Bear sniffing at a Crab. A very dead crab.
He liked the smell so much he decided to wear it!
Shiny and clean after his bath, El Bear and his new toys from Momma Madee.

Ugh – very stinky pup!
The picture of him rubbing the crab on himself was so hilarious! Now I understand the title.
